We all need to tidy up our apartments every now and then, regardless of whether it is a 4BHK flat in Mohali, a property that you’ve bought on the Shivalik range, or a villa on the beachfront. Apart from cleaning our apartment every day, there are certain things that one needs to deep clean from time to time. Deep cleaning tasks include scrubbing the floors, steam cleaning the carpets, etc., that might not even come to our mind sometimes. Here is the list of areas that we often ignore but are the ones that need the most cleaning or tidying up.

1. Scrub the walls

We usually forget the scruff marks that slowly build up on the walls. Almost all of us are guilty of neglecting this build up. The walls near the chairs, tables, cabinets, doorways, etc., are the ones that need the most scrubbing. This is because these are the areas which get marks and dirt at most times. These areas are most likely to get overlooked at the time of cleaning and hence, need some scrubbing from time to time.

For cleaning, you can use a wet sponge with a dish washing detergent. Many a times, the grunge on the walls is not noticeable so wiping them after certain periods of time will keep the walls clean. Make it a routine to scrub these areas at least once every three to four months.

2. Deep clean your kitchen

Sure you might clean your kitchen on a daily basis, but some things always get left. It could be things like the oven, the refrigerator, and other equipment. You can use a simple soap with water to wipe these things. In your refrigerator, it is quite likely that you have food in hidden spaces that has already become a breeding ground for mould.

3. Move the furniture

To make your apartment spic and span, you need to give attention to areas you can’t see. Hence, for that you need to move your furniture. Once, you do that, you will be able to see the dirt, dog hair, or dust that has been accumulating underneath the couch, dining table, chairs, bed, etc. These areas slowly start to dampen the ambience of the whole room and must be given a deep clean every now and then.

4. Dust the ceiling fans

It is important to dust the ceiling fans and even the blinds if you have them. Whenever you dust these two, make sure you clean them in a meticulous way rather than dusting them in a way that leads you to sneezes and sniffles.

5. Tidy up your closet

Try to pay close attention to your closet. Most of us have shabby closets where we can never find the things we need the most at the time. A closet that is organised will save you a lot of time in the morning.

Apart from keeping your apartment spic and span, one must have basic civic sense as well. For instance, in 3 and 4 BHK flats in Mohali, civic sense is strictly followed. This is the very reason that prospective house-buyers consider investing here. Mohali is located at the foothills of Shivalik range, and a vast amount of property options are available here.
